Quick Study "What Controls Your Tongue"

The tongue. . .powerful yet destructive. The tongue can build up and at the same time tear down. The tongue is used to praise God, and do the work of the devil. One minute the tongue is used to praise the mighty God, then it's used to blame our mighty God. The tongue can start great fires such as revival. It will also start uncontrollable fires full of mayhem and destruction. What controls your tongue, or should I ask who controls your tongue? The man who lives in the ways of the world will speak in the ways of the world. He will not control what comes forth from his mouth. As the faithful and obedient man who continues to absorb the knowledge of the word, he will be able to control what comes from his tongue. His tongue will set the world on fire with the goodness of God. As Christians we are to develop self control when it comes to what we say. The ultimate use for our tongue is for the spreading of the gospel to those who do not believe. Mighty things can happen when one speaks. Just look at the life of Jesus, and how many times people's lives were changed when Jesus spoke. Great things will happen when men and women of faith begin to speak God's will with their tongues. Healing, deliverance, prosperity, and protection are just a few of the awesome benefits of letting your faith control your tongue. So? Have you thought about it? What controls your tongue?
